4Ps beneficiaries received their health card on PhilHealth Sabado

Beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the National Capital Region were among the thousands of poor families who trooped to designated areas on October 2 to register and be covered by the government’s health insurance program.

Dubbed as PhilHealth Sabado. Magseguro. Magparehistro, the event aims to increase the number of Filipinos covered by the national health care program of the government through the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation. Filipinos who are not yet members of PhilHealth but have the capacity to pay for their premium contributions were also encouraged to register.

The 4Ps beneficiaries who trooped in the registration sites were the first recipients of the PhilHealth Cards which were distributed during that day.

Among the Registration Sites in the National Capital Region are Baseco Covered Court, Manila; North City Hall, Caloocan; Valenzuela Convention Center; Mandaluyong City Hall; Malabon Amphitheater; Navotas City Hall; Quezon City Hall Lobby; Payatas B Covered Court, Quezon City; Marikina City Hall Quadrangle; San Juan Elementary School Central Gym; EM's Signal Village Elementary School, Taguig; Pasay Sports Complex; Verdant Covered Court, Las Pinas City; City Hall Quadrangle and People's Center, Muntinlupa; Paranaque San Antonio Gym; Pateros Municipal Hall; Makati City Hall Quadrangle; Pasig Convention Center, Pasig City; and National Kidney and Transplant Institute.


No less than President Benigno S. Aquino graced the event and handed the Philhealth cards to indigent families at President Corazon C. Aquino High School in Baseco Compound, Tondo, Manila.

4Ps beneficiaries in Baseco unanimously said that the health card will definitely help them since most of them cannot avail the hospital service during sickness because of financial limitations.

Spearheaded by Philippine Health Insurance Corporation and the Department of Health, impoverished families nationwide based on the data given by the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) received their PhilHealth cards ###
