DSWD-NCR to hire 2,789 youths for Government Internship Program

The Department of Social Welfare and Development in National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) is calling interested out-of-school youths (OSY), students, college graduates and graduates of vocational courses who are unemployed to apply for summer jobs under the Expanded Government Internship Program (GIP).

DSWD-NCR Regional Director, Ma. Alicia S. Bonoan said that 2,789 youths who are between 18 and 30 years old will be hired to perform actual office works and assist in the implementation of DSWD programs and projects.  They may also do direct service work in communities where DSWD programs and projects are implemented, in partnership with local government units.

The Expanded Government Internship Program is part of the Aquino Administration’s efforts to strengthen youth participation in nation-building, expose them to government service, train them on life skills, and contribute to their economic well-being.

Under the program, qualified applicants will work for 52 days and will receive a daily minimum wage of P426.  The work will commence as soon as they are assessed to be qualified.

Interested applicants can go to DSWD-NCR office located at 389 San Rafael cor. Legarda Streets, Sampaloc, Manila to submit their applications. ###
